Economic
Taxes, spending & infrastructure
World-class cities have a train to the airport. I will build an LRT extension to connect YYC to downtown Calgary.Â
I will expand patio spaces on roads like 17th avenue to increase foot traffic and create vibrancy, by creating a three-lane road with alternating traffic.Â
I will build an electric trolley on Stephen Ave, from Olympic Plaza to the Mewata Armory, to ferry passengers through one of Calgary's most vibrant nightlife districts.Â
I will create flexible, city-funded scholarships to educate young people in the sectors and trades where we currently need more graduates.Â
Social
social issues & public policy
I will create open liquor zones in the downtown core to allow for responsible and supervised drinking.Â
Environment
climate, energy & Sustainability
I will be an advocate for Calgary's Oil & Gas Sector at all levels.Â
City Hall has never championed Calgary’s energy industry, even though its prosperity has funded this city for decades. Oil and gas is our city’s central industry, but it has lacked a voice in municipal politics. Working alongside this industry, I will ensure that not only is Calgary the oil and gas capital of Canada but we will grow to become the complete and diversified energy capital of Canada.
Leadership
philosophy & guiding principles
I will enact a 2-term limit for Mayor and City Council.
I will implement a system of Managed Competition, which encourages public and private organizations to competitively bid on city contracts like snow removal.Â
Transparency with taxpayers will reveal the steps taken so that shortfalls won’t happen again.
I will implement bi-annual reviews of all key capital projects in all city departments, and will require accountability for how funds are spent and how results are achieved.

My passion for Calgary is the main motivating factor behind my decision to run for Mayor.
I have witnessed firsthand the transformation in Calgary over the last several years, from a city filled with vibrancy, hope, and opportunity, to a city that has lost its optimism and struggles to cope with the challenges that we are facing.
I would bring a comprehensive and balanced perspective to the mayor’s office. As a long-time entrepreneur, I have working experience with many of the stakeholders and functions of our city, and I understand the fundamental reasons why Calgary needs its businesses to thrive. I’ve also spent most of my adult life volunteering in Calgary, and I know firsthand how to empower our communities and give a leg up to the disadvantaged.
I was born and raised in Western Canada. My experience and life course in business and community brought me throughout North America and finally to Calgary in the early 2000s. Working with the business community and becoming deeply involved in the non-profit sector helped me to realize how diverse, dynamic, and multi-facetted Calgary is. That inspired me to call Calgary home and to add to this wonderful community.
I have many passions and goals, however the main motivating factor for me is to create a positive impact as I move through life. The most important role any human can take upon themselves is to do what they can to improve the quality of life for others and their community. Always strive to be a positive influence.
